Athens Tournament

This was a frustrating week for me. The week started out with great preparation and I have been playing some great golf. Unfortunately I woke up on Thursday morning with a lot of pain in my back on the left side. The pain ony allowed me to swing with about 60 percent effort. I had some work done on my back after the round on Thursday which made it feel better. On Friday it seemed a bit better when I warmed up but then as the round progressed it seemed to get worse. My caddie made me withdraw after twelve holes because I couldnt even hit shots that I know how to normally. After I looked back on it, I shouldnt have even tried to play on Friday but I couldnt seem to make myself quit. I have been resting it for the past three days I am looking forward to getting after it this week in Virginia. I will keep you udated!

South Georgia Classic

This week was a week of serious extremes. The weather at the start of the week was in the 50's and windy. By time the tournament started it was in the upper 80's. On Saturday it was about 85 degrees with 25 mph winds. Then on Sunday the temperature was 55 degrees and blowing 30 to 40 mph. The weather never seems to amaze me when I am back in this part of the country.
Kinderloo Forest was the longest golf course that I have ever played. Also, it was one of the longest courses that a PGA Tour sanctioned tournament has ever been held on. The course was almost 7,800 yards long! And let me tell you, it played every yard of it. It was built on about 200 acres of land and it was just flat out HUGE! The beauty of it was how it was carved out of a forest. It was in great condition too.
I didn't finish as well as I would have liked but it wasn't all too bad. I am still learning how to putt on these bermuda grass greens though. The more that I play on them the better I will get. I am heading up the road about four hours to Athens, Ga and I will keep you all updated next week on how it went!

Wine Country Championship

The Wente Course was one of the toughest test's of golf that I have ever taken on. Firm, fast greens and long rough, not to mention a little wind thrown in there, made for a brutal test of golf. If you missed a shot you were definately penalized! I really like golf courses like this and unfortunately I didnt make it to the weekend but I learned from the experience. I want to say thanks to the people that came out and supported me during the first two days.
The area around this golf course was absolutely beautiful and if you have not been up there, make it a point to go and check it out if you want to see beautiful wine country. I know that some of you have seen the greens at Stevinson Ranch roll fast, but let me tell you that these greens might have been a bit faster than I have ever seen Stevinson's greens. Although the conditions of the course were great, the design of some of the holes were a little quirky.
I will keep you all updated during my next four week stretch that is coming up! Also, get out and play Stevinson, it is in GREAT shape!!
