05/29/2006: "Byron Nelson Classic"
This tournament definitely started with a bang. I found out Wednesday morning that I was in and caught the first flight out. I was ready to go (except for the fact that I had never seen the golf courses) but I was pumped. Because I didn't play a practice round I knew I had to put full trust in my caddie (who had seen these courses). I stuck to "one shot at a time" and hit it where my caddie told me to. This worked out great because I learned to actually "play" the game this week. I didn't hit the ball well but I was able to have a strong short game which saved me. I did make the cut and a decent check (so I got that going for me, which is nice). Over all I was happy with my performance and felt good about the experience. The most important thing that I walked away with this week was to not worry about the things that I couldn't control and just get 'er done!
